There is a version of a person’s life that becomes possible when someone helps with the next hour. Life Optionz exists for that hour — for people who are homeless and living with few resources.
The mission
Meet the person where they are. Then help with what is actually next.
Life Optionz helps people who are homeless and living with few resources. That can mean meeting an immediate need — and it can mean sitting down with someone to work through the calls, applications, and appointments that stand between them and the help that already exists in this community.
We are not here to decide who deserves help. We are here to be useful, to be honest about what is available, and to treat every person with the dignity they already have.
Direct help
The immediate needs, met where the person is — without a maze to get through first.
Connection to resources
Pointing people to the shelters, clinics, agencies and programs that already exist, and helping with the calls and the forms that stand in the way.
Respect, always
Nobody is a case number here. People are met as people, with their dignity intact.
What helping actually looks like
A need met today
The immediate thing — the meal, the ride, the phone call made, the form filled in correctly the first time.
A way through the system
Sitting with someone while they call a shelter, a clinic, or an agency. Applications are long and the hold music is longer; nobody should have to do that alone.
A next step that is written down
Leaving with one clear thing to do next, and knowing who to call if it falls through.
